Working in the sheet metal field can really be dangerous to your eyes.  Grinding, drilling, milling, and many other operations require safety glasses to keep any pieces of metal from getting into your eye. 

This is the story about a man who was working under these conditions when something got in his eye.  This can be really irritating with severe pain!  The company sent the man to the doctor to get the object removed.  When the doctor looked at it, he said it would require the normal procedure which was a small drill.

Literally, they put your head in a fixed position between two pieces of metal wrapped in rubber.  Then, the machine they use is like a drill.  The object is to just touch the unwanted material in the eye with the end of the drill bit.  Usually, when this is done, the piece flips out with no other procedures necessary.

This was not the case with Jim who told the story at one of our miracle services.  The doctor actually drilled too deep into the eye causing permanent damage.  Jim could not see anything out of that eye from that day forward.  Basically, he had become blind in one eye. 

I met Jim as he came forward to the altar in response to the call for anyone who needed prayer.  The first question I asked him was if he was saved.  “Just Got saved Thursday”, he replied.   

I placed my thumb over his eye and prayed, and then I quickly removed my thumb and asked him what he saw.  The procedure was repeated about 3 or 4 times when Jim declared that he could see some out of the damaged eye.  Then we repeated the same thing again.  It just seemed as though the Lord was not going to heal any further.  I told Jim to sit down and wait on the Lord.

All of a sudden, everyone heard him shout!  His eye fell completely open to see as good as his good eye.  The church we were in had a plaque on the wall that said something about missions.  Jim could read this now with his new eye.  

What a celebration of a man who trusted his new Savior.  Jim is blessed, not only has his spiritual eyes been opened, but his physical eyes as well!!!
