Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible was given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God given to mankind.  (2 Timothy 3:15,16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)

We believe the Bible teaches that there is only one true and living God, who is the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He came to reconcile sinful man back to God.  He died on the cross as a complete and final sacrifice for our sins.  He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven where He is at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.  (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31-35; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Acts 1:10,11; Romans 8:34)

We believe all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of redemption – a New Birth, which is made available by the substitutionary death and shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23,24; John 3:3; Romans 10:10,13; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 5:10-12)

We believe that all who repent from their sins, receive Jesus in their heart, and confess Him as their Lord and Savior should be water baptized by immersion.  It symbolizes the death of our sins and a resurrection to a new life.  (Matthew 28:19; Act 2:38; Romans 6:1-7)

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it.  (Joel 2:28; Mark 1:7,8)

We believe in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and that it is the initial physical sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46)

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, subsequent to the New Birth, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life, which is God’s standard for living.           (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15,16)

We believe that divine healing and deliverance is available for all Christians through the redemptive work of Jesus on the Cross in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24)

We believe in the doctrine of laying on of hands for the purpose of fulfilling the Lord’s commands. (Acts 8:18; Acts 9:17; 1 Timothy 4:14)

We believe in the Lord’s Supper, also known as communion.   It is a memorial service symbolizing the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Only true believers should partake of it.  (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ. (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)

We believe there will be a resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved believer into everlasting life in heaven and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation into the torments of hell. (Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 24:15; Revelation 20:11 – 21:8)

We believe that marriage is ordained of God and consists of one man and one woman.  (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6)
